Ben Lee - Multiuser Telecommunications Site, Vodafone
Having constructed the remote located multiuser Telecoms site in the Mountains of Skye it became apparent that the route for the power supply couldn’t be resolved. The solution was to gain agreement from Crown Estates and route the cable across the Sea Loch bed, DSC North developed a method to plough the seabed and winch a cable into place.

This was successful and the site powered up. Without this solution there would have been several sites constructed and impacted the environment further.
Isle of Tiree, New Tower Base , National Air Traffic Services
To be constructed on poor ground adjacent to existing live Tower, this large Concrete base, in excess of 100m cube of material -some 250 tonnes, involved the logistics of delivering all aggregate and cement to the Island by sea going barge and transport to hill top site for construction.

Given the challenging environment, ground conditions and logistical issues – DSC delivered on time and on budget for this critical service.

A57 Emergency Services communications installation
The final site in the original network plan for the Emergency Services Network in the Peak District National Park.
This installation was in a protected wildlife reserve and situated in extremely sensitive Peat ground. A fully underground “Bunker” type of development with the added complication of Traffic Management on the very busy A road adjacent. The DSC staff involved were all trained for “confined space” working and all appropriate HS&Q steps were followed.

The success of this project was derived from the DSC North diverse range of skills, incorporating technical Concrete works, Confined space working, traffic management and the Sensitive approach to the land type and use. A very unique collection of skills in one company.
Ballachulish – Northern Constabulary Comms Tower
Situated high above the village of Ballahulish and serving the A82 trunk road from Glencoe to Onich, this tower redevelopment site was accessible only by Helicopter for much of the year and by specialist ATV machines only in summer months.

A 30m high lattice tower on a 120m cube concrete base, a new power supply cable and Telecoms accommodation units were all installed entirely by Helicopter operations managed by DSC North. We have an unrivalled track record in Telecommunication Helicopter build activities throughout the UK.
